Yuspify’s personalized recommendation boxes display different products for users on the pages of your webshop based on their previous purchases and browsing history.

If your users come across (complementary) products on your site they like, it will inspire them to purchase.

And why is it good for you? Because it helps to

Today, it is not enough to stand out with prices, as customers can easily obtain the same or very similar products from several sources for similar amounts. Today, the competition is for the best user experience.

Yuspify is easy to integrate with the most popular e-commerce platforms. Thanks to our cooperation with UNAS and Shoprenter, for example, you can start using our service in just 15 minutes!

The integration has 3 important milestones:

  • Adding the tracking code: from this moment we can start to collect the behavioral data of your visitors. 
  • Feed synchronization: in order to be able to recommend your products, we need to synchronize them at regular intervals – this is usually 12 or 24 hrs. This means that in this case we make a copy of a part of the database to our system.
  • Identification of pages: we place the recommendation boxes on the different pages of your webshop, so it is important to know the unique characteristics of them.

It is therefore important to identify all relevant page types (Home, Product, Cart, Blog, 404 for instance) in a technically reliable manner. If you are not using one of our apps, you’ll probably need a developer to complete this step, but we can help make it happen. You’ll find all the relevant information of this under the Documentation page.

Moreover, users are 80% more likely to make a purchase when they receive personalized recommendations. We didn’t make this number up, research had already proven it. The CTR (click through rate) of our recommendation boxes ranges between 4-6% on average – depending on the traffic of your webshop and the size of your feed. In comparison, a Google search campaign is considered good from 1-2%, and a display from 4%.

You don’t need to manually pair which products to display for each item, the algorithm does this automatically for you and continuously learns and optimizes itself based on the behavior of your visitors.

The effectiveness of the recommendation system depends on:

  • the visitor traffic of the website: although Yuspify can be used by webshops of all sizes, it is more effective the higher the visitor traffic, because we can work with more data.
  • the size of the feed: in general we suggest to use a recommendation system above 200-250 items in the feed. 
  • from the elapsed time: as the system learns more and more data and behavior flow in your webshop, it will give your customers better and better results. This is already noticeable during our 2-week trial period.
  • from the position of the recommendation box on the website: we recommend that you place the boxes close to the 2nd or 3rd section. On the product page it would typically be just above the detailed product description.

One strong indicator of this is the CTR value, which we mentioned earlier. In the case of the UNAS and Shoprenter platforms, we measure the income generated by the recommendation boxes. In accordance with the international standard, this includes all products that were clicked through Yuspify’s recommendation boxes and purchased within 24 hours. This applies only to those customers who accepted your cookie policy.

The previously mentioned machine learning-based system operates with several types of logic. We have integrated the best practices coming from more that 10 years of international, enterprise size company experience with our Yusp by Gravity R&D brand. These algorithms work in a mixed way when it comes to recommendations, but in general we use the following business logics:

  • Personalized recommendation
    It selects personalized products for the user based on previous behavior patterns. We recommend this logic for the main page and category pages
  • Others bought / viewed this too
    Recommending relevant products simplifies browsing. It greatly increases conversion if visitors come across products that are most suitable for them. This logic should be used on the product page.
  • Cross recommendation
    By recommending products related to, or complementary to the currently viewed products in the cart, the cart size increases. Cross-recommendation should be used on the product page and the shopping cart page.
  • Upselling
    The basket size can be increased even further by recommending premium products that are similar to the products currently viewed and in the basket. Use this logic on the product page and the cart page.

Not all product recommendations are personalized. We distinguish between recommendations calculated from aggregate customer behavior and personalized ones. The former are usually placed on pages where there is not yet enough data available about individual customers. Personalized recommendation boxes (widgets) display different products for users based on their previous purchases and browsing history.

Due to the cold start problem, for example, “hybrid” recommenders typically work on the home page. This means that the user who visits your site for the first time will see the products that are popular and purchased together with the popular products first. However, if you navigate to the product pages and then return to the home page, you will already see a mix of popular and personalized offers based on your browsing.

Working with with personalization solutions, how can we say anything else to this then: Yes, of course!

In certain cases we provide the option for personalized pricing. Cases like that could be:

  • you use our service on multiplie webshops,
  • your monthly pageview is above 1 000 000,
  • you sign for minimum 6 months.

    Yes. In order to have the right amount of data, we suggest to use this option when your number of recommendation is above 150 000 per month.

    Trial period

    The trial period lasts 14 days, during which time there is no charge or obligation. If you encounter any technical issues during this period, please email us at support@yuspify.com and we will make sure you can complete the entire period.

    As soon as everything is in place, the algorithms of the recommendation boxes begin to analyze the relationship between the behavioral data and the catalog, and learn about the unique nature of the webshops. As time passes and our system collects the right amount of data, it will be able to provide more and more valuable business performance. You will experience positive effects not only in terms of sales volume, but also in terms of user experience.

    At the end of the 14th day, our service is automatically activated and your first invoice is created.

    The charge is attempted 3 times, if it is unsuccessful, we are reaching out to you and keep the right to suspend the service until the payment is sent. The creation of the charge and invoice entails a payment obligation.

    Exemple:

    If we served 40,000 recommendations during the 14-day trial period, you should subscribe to our Bronze plan, but you will definitely exceed the 50,000 limit. Your basic fee will thus be $49 net as long as you do not exceed 50,000 recommendations (displaying 1 recommendation box on the page). If you exceed this – for example due to a campaign – you will not automatically be upgraded to our Silver package, but will have to pay an overusage fee. That’s $0.98 per 1,000 recommendation for the Bronze plan.

    As a Bronze plan customer, you should upgrade to the Silver package if your consumption is around/above 300,000 units, because in this case the basic price of the Silver package of $299 net is more favorable than the Bronze package of $49 and the regarding overusage fee.

    There is no loyalty period for using Yuspify, only a 30-day notice period. During this period, we ensure that recommendations are served.

    A page load is a technical event that the website serves when a user navigates to a specific page.

    The page load (pageview) can be roughly defined as the product of the number of unique customer visits and the average page views.

    You can view this in your Google Analytics account or in the admin interface of your webshop.

    Invoicing (consumption) is based on the number of recommendations served. A recommendation means the displaying of 1 reco box, regardless of how many products appear in it.

    With the help of our pricing calculator, you can calculate which plan is expected to be the most suitable for you. Just enter the number of your monthly page loads. This number is the multiplication of your total monthly visitors and the average number of pages viewed.

    It is important that a page load is not equal to the number of recommendations served. If, for example, many people visit your Blog page, but there is no product recommendation box there, then the visit will increase the number of your page views, but not the number of recommendations served.

    If you do not want your subscription to be activated, click the Cancel Subscription button in the Settings menu before the end of your trial period and follow the steps.

    There is no loyalty period with Yuspify. You can cancel your subscription at any time during the month. The notice period is 30 days. This means that our service will continue to run for another 30 days from the date of cancellation.

    It is important that deactivating the reco box is not the same as canceling the registration and subscription.

    Our customers who use the Shoprenter webshop receive their invoices through the Shoprenter system.

    The payment is initiated from the Yuspify account, under the Accounts menu item. The system will then redirect you to the Shoprenter interface via a one-time payment link. This is how you can balance your monthly fees.

    The first invoice will be a partial invoice, based on the days used beyond the trial period in the given month. The invoices contain two items:

    • a base fee corresponding to a subscription package, which must always be paid in advance according to the current month (like a rent),
    • overusage fee, in the event that you exceeded the number of recommendations included in the plan in the previous month (as the utilities).

    Let’s look at it through a Bronze package example.
